What’s a Form?

Forms are ghosts in the broadest sense and forms in the broadest sense: practices, inherited patterns, presences, ways of moving, philosophies. They can be learned, mislearned, blended, passed on, and changed.

What happens to the friends reaches the music, too. When a character changes, the band’s actual sound changes with them, not just the dialogue around it.

the house rule Box open. Cat alive. Make television.

Paper Bag is authored at the large scale and procedural in the connective tissue. The characters, premise, and arcs are written; ordinary life, interruptions, and little consequences grow in between, and the edit shapes that lived material into an episode.

How it gets made

Paper Bag is an independently created animated series, built through a weird mixture of drawing, music, code, custom animation systems, editing, and a lot of iteration.
